Everybody has seen those little Avatars in Snap chats and text messages, so we felt like it was time to figure out how to make them and hard it is. It turns out that the majority of those personal emojis are generated from a wonderful app called Bitmoji. Bitmoji allows you to create a custom digital version of yourself through their easy to use interface. All you need to do is download the app, which installed very quickly, and then go through the customizable options to create an avatar that looks like you the most.
You start by choosing the shape of your head and it just goes from there, all the way to choosing eyebrows to clothing. There are other personalized avatar apps on the market, but Bitmoji is by far the easiest to use when it comes to creating an avatar and also using it in different formats. In addition to the wide array of options it lets you customize with, you can choose from hundreds of different themes or images. You can choose to have your Bitmoji eating a bowl of pasta, holding a cup of coffee, clicking an unsubscribe button, etc.; The options are really vast and I think there are more than anybody will ever need.

When we first tested Bitmoji we thought that it would use the camera to create a personal emoji based on your picture. The fact that it allows you to customize your own personal emoji by using the provided options is a major plus, that way you don’t have to rely on the camera and app algorithm to get it right. Technology is great, but when you have to rely on it completely and are not able to customize things it can get a little tricky.
The best part about Bitmoji is that it’s free! It can easily be an app that you buy for $0.99, because so many people would still want to use it. However, the folks over at Bitstrips decided to gift their app to the world and we are very grateful. It’s really amazing how many custom emoji options are included with Bitmoji. By giving you the chance to select anything from face shape to jaw line, you can truly create a custom emoji that looks like you.
With a very intuitive user interface bitmoji makes to easy for you to use. So many people never get around to using custom emoji apps because the thought of doing so is so overwhelming, so we hope that by doing this video and review people can see how simple it really is. The entire process from download to completion can be done in less than 10 minutes, and if you want you can spend a lot of time choosing out custom outfits. The amount of detail that went into the clothing options is truly extraordinary
Even though Bitmoji is a very simple app with a strait forward mission, we think that it will evolve immensely over the years. This thinking was really sparked by the clothing and brand integrations that Bitmoji currently has; As technology gets more advanced we strongly believe the Bitmoji app will be a way for you to try on outfits and get a realistic idea of how they will look. Right now Bitmoji generates what are basically cartoon avatars, so the next logical step is for an app like this to use real pictures and body images that can be customizable so it’s like you are looking into a mirror.
Another major move in technology that will enhance custom emoji apps like Bitmoji will be the introduction and increased use of 3D and hologram technology. You can already apply filters within your camera to make it look like dancing hot dogs are on the table, and you can even make it so that your emoji appears to be hanging out. Some time in the near future we think that apps like Bitmoji will allow you to project your customized emoji into the room as a hologram and dress it up like a mannequin in holographic clothing from online retailers.
Now that we’ve gone on our technology rant about the future of these types of apps, we want to reiterate the fact that Bitmoji is an awesome app and if you ever use apps like Snapchat or text people, then you need to download it and give it a shot; It is way to quick and easy not too!
