A lot of us wouldn’t be able to get through the day without using utility apps. What exactly is a utility app? It’s an type of app that helps you with things like organization, math, scheduling, lighting, hosting, etc., anything that has to do with helping you in your personal and/or business life.
Some of the best utility apps already come installed on your phone, such as the calculator app and flashlight app. However, there are still so many good ones that most people have never heard of. The majority of people search for the next coolest game app, or even the latest and greatest dating app. Password keepers have become pretty popular over the last couple years, but that is just scratching the surface of the ever-growing world of utility apps.
Finding the best utility apps to test out is one of our favorite things to do since we can easily incorporate them into our daily lives. Since there are lots of different utility app categories we really try spread it out and test ones that span across the biggest categories. If we think that an app has the potential to help improve a person’s daily life than we will take the time to test it.
You can look over the criteria we use for utility app reviews below:
- Usability – is the app easy to use? Easy to understand?
- Market Position – does the app offer something unique that no other app in it’s space does? Are there lots of other apps just like it? How does it compare to some of it’s competitors?
- Cost – does the app cost money to install? Does it require a subscription?
- Overall Benefit – how much does the app really improve your daily life? Does it do everything that it promises to do?
- Monetization – does the app have so many ads that it makes it too annoying to use? Does it include video interstitials that waste time and actually add a hinderance on your day?
